Fire and Damnation Bitters

Bad Dog's Fire and Damnation bitters are based on a historical recipe, first found in “The Gentlemen’s Companion” by Charles Baker, Jr., in 1939. Used in measured doses, they add the right amount of heat and intrigue to a cocktail.

This is a flavour bomb. It tastes like freshly roasted hot green peppers with an earthy complexity, reminiscent of black tea. The smoky component is subtle and not overpowering.

A few drops and dashes in classic cocktails bring a whole new dimension — a volcanic Daiquiri, a spicy Blood and Sand, a Texas-fired El Diablo.

Bad Dog Bar Craft is a bitters company based in Austin, Texas founded by Lara Nixon, a cocktail enthusiast and spirits educator (among several other day jobs). Nixon founded the company after deciding that she might find more joy in life by shifting her hobby towards the bar craft production side of the industry. Bad Dog Bar Craft was born in late 2011, when Nixon teamed up with local bartending champion Jason Stevens. Bad Dog currently offers two flagship bitters, which are both hand-crafted and produced in small batches (3-5 gallons at a time).
