Absinthe Fountain - Lady 2 Taps Copper
This is an Absinthe fountain, elegantly named "Lady". Absinthe fountains are traditionally used to drip water over a sugar cube into a glass of absinthe. The water slowly dissolves the sugar and blends with the absinthe, creating the classic louche effect where the drink turns from clear to a milky opalescence, which is essential to the full absinthe experience.
The design of the Lady Absinthe fountain is particularly intricate, with a figurative stand that likely gives the fountain its name. It is made from a combination of glass for the reservoir and metal for the frame and taps, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. It's a conversation piece that also serves a functional role in the preparation of a storied and sometimes misunderstood spirit. Its presence suggests a commitment to the traditional ritual of absinthe drinking, which enthusiasts often appreciate for both its flavor and its history.
